Santa Fe Association of REALTORS® 2nd Annual Masquerade Ball

Raises over $20,000 For Dollars4Schools Program

(Santa Fe, NM)  April 1, 2015 - The Santa Fe Association of REALTORS® (SFAR) raised over $20,000 with monies still rolling in through its 2nd Masquerade Ball and Silent Auction held at Las Campanas in late March.  SFAR’s Community Services Committee put in countless volunteer hours putting together this lively fundraising event dedicated to helping our students with their basic needs.

“It was a fun event with over 100 guests wearing all kinds of costumes,” said Michaelann Cavazos, 2015 Chair of the SFAR Community Services Committee.  “State Farm agency offices of Melissa Pessara, Stephen Gillespie, Belinda Ferrero, and Bryan Doerner offered a $1,000 prize for the best costume with couple, Realtor Georgette Romero and her date, Gordon Stephens, taking the award.

The $20,000 plus will go to Dollars4Schools Basic Needs program ensuring that school students get nutritious snacks, lunches and clothing.  When a student’s basic needs are met, it puts them on the right track for learning.

“We could not have reached this goal without the generous contributions by our wonderful sponsors,” Mrs. Cavazos shared.  SFAR 2015 Masquerade Ball sponsors included:  Century Bank, Community Bank, Gateway Mortgage Group, Legacy Mortgage, Los Alamos National Bank, Los Alamos National Security LLC, Southwestern Title & Escrow Inc., Santa Fe New Mexican, Santa Fean, State Farm, and The Club at Las Campanas.

In wrapping up, Michaelann noted, “The Masquerade Ball was a great success and we were delighted to have Santa Fe Public Schools Superintendent, Joel Boyd, on hand to share a positive update of our local school system.”
